Tequila Shrimp in Lemon Butter Sauce
Shrimp in a lemon butter sauce is a classic dish. It has a wonderfully rich flavor, cut with a splash of lemon. Also called, nilasing na hipon in the Philippines. This means drunken shrimp, due to the tequila.
Ingredients
1/2 lb (21/25) Shrimp
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 cup tequila
1 lemon
Chives for garnish
Salt and Pepper to taste
OIl pan with vegetable oil. Place pan on the stove on medium-high heat. Wait till it starts to smoke. Fry shrimp in pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1.5 minutes each side.
Flambe
Splash tequila in the pan. Slightly tilt pan until flames catch. Let the alcohol burn off. Reduce tequila, then spoon in butter. Let it foam and mix it in. Splash lemon juice and check the taste.
